Baked Beans

"This recipe reminds me of hotdogs and beans with Boston brown bread we used to have for Saturday night suppers. I still have my mother's bean pot she used for making baked beans and she used a similar recipe to this one. Comfort food and memories! Recipe source: Saveur (June/July 2006)"

These beans were a big hit with the family. Everyone loved them. I added a pound of hamburger because my DH is supposed to eat a lot of protein on Dr's orders. No one realized there was pickle juice in them.
