"This Taste of Home recipe has a unique ingredient & boasts a perfect record of 23 glowing 5-Star reviews. Credit was given to Chris Shields of Monrovia, Indiana. 2 reviewer comments were esp worthy of note. The 1st cautioned against the use of sugar-free or diet soda (the secret ingredient) & the 2nd shared that the recipe also works w/fresh seasonal peaches. ENJOY!"
Preheat oven to 350F. Peel, core & cut ea apple into 8 wedges. Unroll both tubes of crescent dough & separate ea into 8 triangles.
Wrap a triangle around ea wedge. Place in a greased 13 x 9-in. baking dish.
In a bowl, mix sugar, butter & cinnamon until blended. Sprinkle over each dumpling. Slowly pour soda around the rolls (do not stir).
Bake (uncovered) until golden brown & apples are tender (35-40 min). Serve warm w/ice cream as desired. (Yield is 8 servings of 2 dumplings per person)

I cut this down to half a recipe as I didn't want to have too many left over, as I am trying to watch my weight, but I made them when my sister and niece came to visit! I love cinnamon and apples so this really hit the spot and we all loved them! I served with a scoop of Vanilla ice cream. It was a real treat! Thank you for sharing it here with us Twis! Linda
