Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 medium (364 grams) whole apples (Granny Smith suggested)
  • 2 tubes (16 ounces) refrigerated crescent rolls (8 ounce each tube)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup Mountain Dew soda
  • Vanilla ice cream, optional to serve

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350F. Peel, core & cut ea apple into 8 wedges. Unroll both tubes of crescent dough & separate ea into 8 triangles.

  • Step 2: Wrap a triangle around ea wedge. Place in a greased 13 x 9-in. baking dish.

  • Step 3: In a bowl, mix sugar, butter & cinnamon until blended. Sprinkle over each dumpling. Slowly pour soda around the rolls (do not stir).

  • Step 4: Bake (uncovered) until golden brown & apples are tender (35-40 min). Serve warm w/ice cream as desired. (Yield is 8 servings of 2 dumplings per person)
