  • When selecting ground beef, look for a leaner option with a higher fat content for a more flavorful chili.
  • If using jalapeno peppers, wear gloves to protect your hands from the heat of the peppers.

  • Substitute ground turkey for the lean ground beef - This substitution is a healthier option that still provides a good source of protein while cutting down on fat and cholesterol.
  • Substitute vegetable broth for the beef broth - This substitution is a great vegan option that still provides a good source of flavor without the need for animal products.

Vegetarian Chili Substitute the ground beef and sirloin with 1 package of crumbled vegetarian burger and 1 package of cubed firm tofu. Omit the beef broth and use vegetable broth instead.

Cheddar Cornbread: This classic side dish is the perfect complement to chili. The sweetness of the cornbread pairs wonderfully with the savory chili, and the cheddar cheese adds an extra layer of flavor to the dish.

Coleslaw: This cool and crunchy side dish is a great way to add a bit of brightness and texture to the chili. The tangy dressing and crunchy cabbage and carrots provide a nice contrast to the heartiness of the chili. Plus, it's easy to make and can be served cold or at room temperature.

Q: How much salt should I add to the chili?

A: The recipe calls for 1 teaspoon of salt. You can adjust the amount of salt to taste.

Q: How long should I cook the chili?

A: The cooking time will depend on the ingredients and the size of the pot. Generally, you can simmer the chili for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
