"This is a recipe for making your own Vanilla Extract. Although there are many ways/recipes for vanilla extract, I adapted several with the use of 2 different beans, and used Vanilla Vodka. Makes for a very pretty Christmas gift, to a Baker. "

Step 1

Pour vodka into glass jar. Snip the vanilla bean pods into 1 1/2 to 2 inch pieces and drop into jar. Allow to steep for 60 days before using. There are approx. 48 Teaspoon size servings in 2 cups of the Extract.
