Slow Cooker Salisbury Steaks
"This recipe is not my own. Credit goes to Katie Jasiewicz. Her website is Food Fanctic. We like salisbury steak but could not find a recipe we like. This one has great taste! This recipe is pretty versatile. You can adjust seasonings as you desire. Add more or less of onions and/or mushrooms. I do not use Wyler's bouillon cubes because there is too much salt and not enough flavor. Easy to put together at night and so easy to cook all day. Pop it in the cooker in the morning then go on with your day. Quick, easy, and cheap is a great thing for us. Great on vacation too. We are gone 1 - 3 months in the summer. This is a good thing to have ready when you get "home"."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Spray a large 6-quart oval slow cooker with cooking spray.
Step 2
Then add the sliced mushrooms and onions to the bottom spread evenly.
Step 3
Prepare the ground beef mixture with steak seasoning, 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, dried onion flakes, parsley, breadcrumbs and egg together. Mix well.
Step 4
Divide the mixture into 4-6 patties and form each patty into an oval shape, pressing thin, and then place in the slow cooker.
Step 5
Do not stack the burgers, lay them as spread out as you can. If they overlap a little that's ok.
Step 6
Mix together the 2 cups of beef broth, 2-tablespoons Worchester sauce, 2 tablespoons cornstarch, and whisk until smooth then pour on top of beef patties. Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook for 3-4 hours on high or 6-8 hours on low.
Step 7
Once the Salisbury steak is done cooking, remove the steaks from the slow cooker.
Step 8
In a small bowl mix one-tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons water.
Step 9
Stir the cornstarch water mixture into the gravy in the slow cooker. Mix until thickened.
Step 10
Serve each Salisbury steak with mushroom and onion gravy on top of egg noodles or mashed potatoes. Enjoy.
