"An easy little number if you have the cooked sausage and onion/garlic mixture made up and frozen in your freezer which is what I always have in my freezer ready to use in recipes. This may prepared a day ahead and pop it in the oven for a tasty weeknight meal. Use your favorite pasta sauce for this"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Grease a 2-quart baking dish. Cook pasta in boiling water only to about halfway (the pasta will cook and soften more in the oven) drain and set aside.

Step 2

In a large skillet cook the sausage meat with onion until browned (about 12-15 minutes). Add in garlic and mushrooms; cook 2 minutes. Stir in the pasta sauce and heat through (about 15 minutes). Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix in cooked pasta. Transfer to baking dish. Top with mozzarella cheese and pepperoni slices.

Step 3

Cover and bake in a 350 degree F oven for 25-30 minutes or until heated through.
