President Taft's Ultimate Sandwich
"Supposed to be found in basement papers (this is what they said) handwritten of course on pumpernickel. First, we have roast beef, thinly sliced and piled high. Then, layers of juicy ham and crispy bacon for that salty crunch. Not enough? Taft adds a layer of smoked turkey for good measure. Because why not? The Crunch Factor: Lettuce isn't welcome here. Taft throws in shredded cabbage for its peppery bite and coleslaw-like crunch. The Sweet Surprise: This is where it gets interesting. Taft, the man with a sweet tooth to rival his appetite, adds a layer of sliced…apples! Yes, you read that right. Sweet, crisp apples add a surprising burst of sweetness that somehow perfectly complements the savory meats. The Creamy Finish: No sandwich is complete without cheese. Taft opts for a sharp cheddar, its tang cutting through the richness. The Final Touches: A sprinkle of salt and pepper, a hefty dollop of Dijon mustard, and a toothpick to hold it all together."
