Pineapple Upside Down Cake Donuts (Campfire Recipe)
"A fun treat to make while sitting around a campfire! Maraschino cherries are optional, but they add to the fun. Adjust quantities for how many people are roasting their dessert. Also good with a scoop of vanilla ice cream over the top of the hot cake."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Make sure your campfire is built and going strong.
Step 2
Set out two large pieces of HEAVY DUTY aluminum foil.
Step 3
Cut cake donut in half and set one half on each piece of aluminum foil.
Step 4
Lay a pineapple ring on each donut half, then place a stemless Maraschino cherry in the center of the pineapple ring; dot the pineapple slices with butter, then sprinkle the brown sugar over each slice.
Step 5
Wrap aluminum foil tightly around the donut half and toppings, making sure the packet is sealed well.
Step 6
Place wrapped packets directly into the coals of the campfire and cook for 10-15 minutes.
Step 7
Using LONG TONGS, remove the packets from the fire. Be careful... these are HOT.
Step 8
Using a hot pad or oven mitt, slowly unwrap the packets (the steam will also be HOT). Enjoy!
