Orange Snowdrops
"This recipe is from "The Better Homes and Gardens Complete Book of Baking". It is one of my favorites. They are very soft and yummy! They have a delicious strong fresh orange flavor. I love the icing on them. Try these! "

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375F. In large mixing bowl beat butter and shortening on medium to high for 30 seconds, or until softened.
Step 2
Add powdered sugar and baking soda and beat until combined.
Step 3
Beat in egg, orange juice concentrate, and vanilla until combined.
Step 4
Mix in flour until combined.
Step 5
Drop by a rounded tablespoon 2-inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Step 6
Bake at 375F for 8 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned. Cool on cookie sheets for 1 minute. Transfer to wire rack and cool completely.
Step 7
Combine all the icing ingredients in a mixing bowl and beat until smooth. Adjust powdered sugar amount until proper spreading consistency. Spread icing on completely cooled cookies.
Step 8
Store in airtight container up to 1 day. To make ahead, freeze cookies without icing up to 1 month. Thaw for 15 minutes and spread with icing.
