Step by Step Method
Step 1
Place some water in the bottom half of a double boiler. Bring to a boil.
Step 2
Into the TOP half of the double boiler, add all of the ingredients except the vanilla, then place the pot on top of the boiling water.
Step 3
Use a hand mixer to begin gently mixing. Once it starts to cook, increase the speed and beat constantly for about 7 minutes.
Step 4
Remove from heat. Add the vanilla. Beat until the icing holds deep swirls.
Step 5
Uses the frosting to ice a cooled cake.
