Ingredients
- 1/4 cup clear Karo syrup
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 egg whites
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon clear vanilla
How to Make

Step 1: Place some water in the bottom half of a double boiler. Bring to a boil.

Step 2: Into the TOP half of the double boiler, add all of the ingredients except the vanilla, then place the pot on top of the boiling water.

Step 3: Use a hand mixer to begin gently mixing. Once it starts to cook, increase the speed and beat constantly for about 7 minutes.

Step 4: Remove from heat. Add the vanilla. Beat until the icing holds deep swirls.

Step 5: Uses the frosting to ice a cooled cake.
