Step by Step Method
Step 1
After melting the chocolate in the top of a double boiler, add sugar and water to the chocolate all at once, an dblend.
Step 2
Add egg, beating afterwards. If using 2 egg yolks, add them one at a time and beat after each addition.
Step 3
Then add butter, a tablespoon at a time, beating well after each addition.
Step 4
Makes 2 cups of frosting or enough to cover the top and sides of a 13"x9"x2" cake or the tops and sides of two 8- or 9-inch layers.
