"A simple way to make hard-boiled eggs using your Instant Pot. Yes, they're easy to make on the stove. Yes, it's even easier with an Instant Pot. The cook time is the actual time the eggs spend pressure cooking; it doesn't include the time it takes for the Instant Pot to pressurize or release pressure. You can easily adjust the quantities to make more or fewer eggs at a time."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Place the metal trivet or steamer basket into the Instant Pot. Add 1 cup of water to the pot.

Step 2

Carefully place the eggs onto the trivet or in the steamer basket, ensuring they are not touching the water.

Step 3

Close the lid of the Instant Pot and make sure the pressure release valve is set to the "Sealing" position.

Step 4

Select the "Manual" or "Pressure Cook" setting, and set the cooking time to 5 minutes on high pressure. If your Instant Pot has a "Pressure Cook" button, you can use that instead.

Step 5

Once the cooking time is set, the Instant Pot will take some time to come to pressure. This usually takes around 5 to 10 minutes.

Step 6

Once the cooking time is complete, allow for a natural pressure release (NPR) for 5 minutes. Then, carefully switch the pressure release valve to the "Venting" position to release any remaining pressure.

Step 7

Open the lid of the Instant Pot and transfer the eggs to a bowl filled with ice water. Let them sit in the ice water for about 5 minutes. This helps to stop the cooking process and makes the eggs easier to peel.

Step 8

After 5 minutes, remove the eggs from the ice water and gently tap them on a hard surface to crack the shell. Roll the eggs between your hands to loosen the shell.

Step 9

Peel the eggs under cold running water, starting from the wide end, as this tends to have an air pocket that helps with peeling.

Step 10

Once peeled, the hard-boiled eggs are ready to be enjoyed or used in your favorite recipes.
