Step 1: Place the metal trivet or steamer basket into the Instant Pot. Add 1 cup of water to the pot.
Step 2: Carefully place the eggs onto the trivet or in the steamer basket, ensuring they are not touching the water.
Step 3: Close the lid of the Instant Pot and make sure the pressure release valve is set to the "Sealing" position.
Step 4: Select the "Manual" or "Pressure Cook" setting, and set the cooking time to 5 minutes on high pressure. If your Instant Pot has a "Pressure Cook" button, you can use that instead.
Step 5: Once the cooking time is set, the Instant Pot will take some time to come to pressure. This usually takes around 5 to 10 minutes.
Step 6: Once the cooking time is complete, allow for a natural pressure release (NPR) for 5 minutes. Then, carefully switch the pressure release valve to the "Venting" position to release any remaining pressure.
Step 7: Open the lid of the Instant Pot and transfer the eggs to a bowl filled with ice water. Let them sit in the ice water for about 5 minutes. This helps to stop the cooking process and makes the eggs easier to peel.
Step 8: After 5 minutes, remove the eggs from the ice water and gently tap them on a hard surface to crack the shell. Roll the eggs between your hands to loosen the shell.
Step 9: Peel the eggs under cold running water, starting from the wide end, as this tends to have an air pocket that helps with peeling.
Step 10: Once peeled, the hard-boiled eggs are ready to be enjoyed or used in your favorite recipes.
