Step by Step Method

Step 1

Melt lard.

Step 2

Sift dry ingredients together.

Step 3

Beat eggs well.

Step 4

Leave dates cherries and nuts whole.

Step 5

Mix the fruit and nuts with flour mixture. Add cherry juice and vanilla. Add eggs and lard.

Step 6

Bake in 2 lined and greased pans at 300 degrees for about 1 1/2 hours.
