"I think this is one of the best recipes, you can adjust the rum and please use only dark rum for this. Another way to do this is just add in the rum to the glass, this way kids can enjoy it also"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Put all ingredients, except rum and cream, and nutmeg into crockpot. Add 2 quarts hot water. Stir well. Cover pot and cook on LOW for 5 hours. -- NOTE: before adding in the run to the crockpot please read the recipe heading). Add rum; stir to blend (I suggest to start with 1 cup and add in more to taste, or add in the desired amount to the glasses).

Step 2

Serve from the crockpot in warm mugs with a scoop of whipped cream and a dusting of nutmeg.
