Step by Step Method

Step 1

Spread butter on 1 side of ea frozen waffle. Form a sandwich (buttered-sides out) w/chopped chocolate & banana slices as the filling.

Step 2

Cook in a skillet over med heat (covered) until the chocolate melts & the waffles are golden & crisp (about 2 min per side).

Step 3

NOTE FROM ME - Altho not mentioned in the recipe, I immediately thought of this as an opportunity to make a "banana split" or even a s'mores creation. You don't need much to make them happen. Just add some ice cream, chocolate sauce & nuts for the former & some mini marshmallows for the latter. Your kids will love your creative treats!

Editorial Notes

The ingredient tips, suggestions, variations, facts, questions and answers below are not edits to the original author's recipe. They are not meant to imply any change would improve the recipe. • When selecting the waffles for this recipe, try to find mini-waffles that have a thin, crisp texture.
  • Choose a chocolate that you enjoy eating, as it will be the star of the dish.

  • Replace the butter with coconut oil for a more tropical flavor. The benefit of this substitution is that coconut oil is a healthier alternative to butter, and it adds a delicious coconut flavor to the waffle panini.
  • Replace the chocolate with peanut butter for a nutty twist. The benefit of this substitution is that it adds a creamy, nutty flavor that pairs nicely with the banana and waffle. Plus, it's a great source of protein.

Caramel & Peanut Butter Waffle Panini Spread butter on one side of each frozen waffle. Form a sandwich (buttered-sides out) with caramel and peanut butter as the filling. Cook in a skillet over medium heat (covered) until the caramel melts and the waffles are golden and crisp (about 2 min per side).

Vanilla Ice Cream: Serve the Chocolate & Banana Waffle Panini with a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream for a delicious and indulgent dessert. The cool and smooth texture of the ice cream will perfectly complement the warm and crunchy waffle panini.

Strawberry Shortcake: Serve the Chocolate & Banana Waffle Panini with a classic strawberry shortcake for a sweet and fruity treat. The tartness of the strawberries will pair nicely with the sweetness of the waffle panini, while the light and fluffy shortcake will provide a nice contrast in texture.

Great breakfast. Chocolate and cooked banana are always a favorite for me. I tried this both as written and with your s'mores idea. I loved both, but couldn't resist the gooey marshmallow in the s'mores one, so that one takes the cake!
