Cheddar Cheese & Bacon Topped Baked Chicken

"I found the original recipe posted by ~Bekah~ on a now defunct recipe site.This has been made few times and my SO and I thought it was very good. But you know how some people can't leave a recipe alone and well, I'm one of those people. ;) So I decided to post it here with the " tweaks " I did. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spray a 2 quart rectangle baking dish with cooking spray.
While oven is preheating, cook bacon in a small skillet until almost crisp,remove from skillet and drain on paper towels.
In a medium size bowl,combine breadcrumbs,thyme,savory,salt,pepper,and garlic powder.
Dip chicken in beaten egg ,then in the breadcrumb mixture.
Place into prepared baking dish and bake for 30 minutes or until tender.
About 5 minutes before chicken is done,top each piece with equal amounts of cheese and bacon.
Return to oven and bake until cheese melts.
