Cheddar Cheese & Bacon Topped Baked Chicken

"I found the original recipe posted by ~Bekah~ on a now defunct recipe site.This has been made few times and my SO and I thought it was very good. But you know how some people can't leave a recipe alone and well, I'm one of those people. ;) So I decided to post it here with the " tweaks " I did. Please feel free to add more or less seasonings according to yours and your families tastes. Posted to " ZAAZ " on 4/16/18. " Keep Smiling :)"

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spray a 2 quart rectangle baking dish with cooking spray.

Step 2

While oven is preheating, cook bacon in a small skillet until almost crisp,remove from skillet and drain on paper towels.

Step 3

In a medium size bowl,combine breadcrumbs,thyme,savory,salt,pepper,and garlic powder.

Step 4

Dip chicken in beaten egg ,then in the breadcrumb mixture.

Step 5

Place into prepared baking dish and bake for 30 minutes or until tender.

Step 6

About 5 minutes before chicken is done,top each piece with equal amounts of cheese and bacon.

Step 7

Return to oven and bake until cheese melts.

No special items needed.



I had everything for this except savory. My husband and I both liked it; we both thought that we would like more seasoning on it next time. The meat came out moist and tender. This is a good one for sure.
