"This is a really yummy potato recipe my family loves. For Swiss Cheese and Ham Potato slices, use finely shredded Swiss cheese instead of cheddar cheese and substitute 1/2 to 3/4 cup finely chopped cooked ham for bacon. If you like garlic mix in some garlic powder to the melted butter "

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 °F.

Step 2

For easier slicing, cut thin slice from ends of each potato; discard. Cut potatoes into 1/4 inch thick slices. Dry slices and place in single layer on lightly greased shallow baking sheet. Brush with melted butter; sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Step 3

Bake 20 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Combine cheddar cheese, bacon and onions. Spoon onto potato slices. Bake 5 minutes longer or until cheese is melted.
