"The slider genre is enjoying a huge surge of popularity on recipe sites & it's easy to see why. It's easy to prepare 1-2 of them for a quick breakfast, lunch or snack. And it's even easier to prepare them in volume for an appy buffet, patio party, starter course, picnic or potluck. They're about as multi-functional as you can get. I esp like them for: 1) Helping me to exercise dessert portion control w/mini sweet treats I can pair w/a fruit/cheese platter or 2) Helping me add variety to our weekly family brunch on Sat mornings. This recipe was part of a larger TOH recipe credited to Stacy Joura of Stoneboro, PA, but I modified it to use prepared frozen mini-waffles & chose 6 servings as a compromise between the larger or smaller # of servings the recipe easily prepares. ENJOY!"

  • For best results, use a small tomato that is thin-sliced for the BLT waffle sliders.
  • If desired, the bacon can be cooked ahead of time for ease of preparation.

  • Turkey bacon instead of pork bacon: Turkey bacon is a great alternative for those who are looking for a healthier option. It has fewer calories and fat than pork bacon, while still providing the same delicious flavor. The benefit of this substitution is that it is lower in fat and calories, making it a healthier choice.
  • Avocado instead of mayonnaise: Avocado is a great substitute for mayonnaise as it is a healthier option. It is packed with healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals, and has a creamy texture that is perfect for making sliders. The benefit of this substitution is that it is a healthier option and adds a delicious flavor to the sliders.

Vegetarian BLT Waffle Sliders Substitute the bacon for a plant-based protein alternative, such as tempeh or tofu. To add flavor to the sliders, marinate the tempeh or tofu in a mixture of olive oil, garlic, and herbs before cooking.

Fruit Salad with Honey-Lime Dressing: This light and refreshing fruit salad is the perfect accompaniment to the BLT Waffle Sliders. The sweetness of the honey-lime dressing complements the savory flavors of the sliders, while the fresh fruit adds a bright and colorful contrast. Plus, it's a great way to get some extra vitamins and minerals into your meal!

Crispy Baked Onion Rings: These crispy baked onion rings are a great way to add a crunchy and savory component to the meal. The sweetness of the honey-lime dressing and the fresh fruit in the fruit salad will be complemented nicely by the salty and crunchy onion rings. Plus, they're baked, not fried, so they're a healthier alternative to traditional onion rings.
