Ellie...from what I know...vanilla paste is a process using vanilla beans, vanilla extract and Agave. It is expensive and take a lot of beans. Or you can buy it, but it is expensive. The best substitute is pure vanilla extract, not imitation.

I have vanilla extract which I was going to use if I didn't figure it out. Thanks for the info.

Hi there Ladies,
Hope you're doing well and Happy Friday

I'm starting to feel better and today was the first day that I had "real food". Good news is that I lost some weight, but brother, did this plate of food taste so good (though I only ate about half). The "gentle" food I've been eating for ~2 weeks is bland as all get out. I'm sick of "gentle" food, but must admit, me and cream of wheat have become besties.

Thanks so much to everyone who wished me get well wishes. You guys are the total BOMB!!



I'll be slowly chipping away at completing my tags and can't promise that I'll be able to eat all of them, but the fam will.

Yes that right Luvcookn.
Vanilla paste is thick and a concentrated blend of vanilla extract and finely ground vanilla bean. So its like you have scrapped a vanilla pod. It is so convenient and easier than scraping vanilla beans. We buy it in a tube or small jar. It is a more intense flavor than extract with traces of vanilla bean seeds. Use an equal amount of pure vanilla extract (not essence) as you would vanilla bean paste. While extract lacks the visual specks of the paste, it offers a similar deep vanilla flavor.
