What WAS on Your Plate & WHAT'S for Dinner 2/22/17-2/23/17
A Rainy Start To The Day Here, But We Really Need It!
Today's Cooking ...
A gf's daughter had surgery on a broken arm yesterday; and, I thought it would be nice to take her a pot of soup, sammies, and salad. Her daughters' favorite. http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/potato-soup-14321 but, I add a little celery root; http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/ham-sw ... iders-7562
That way she doesn't have to cook for her 3 kids and dh tonight. I'll probably pick up a gallon of ice cream, sauce and whipped cream for dessert. As soon as it stops raining; I'll drop it off - then, they can heat it up whenever.
Me ... Still not hungry; but, much improved - I did wear a mask when making the food last night. I honestly do NOT know. I had toast with peanut butter and apple slices; during the day fruit, crackers/cheese - exciting.
Tonight ... I saved a bowl of the potato soup, which may be dinner. I have lots of things in the freezer to cook if I want. Nothing really planned.

Sounds good to me. Italian sausage is a staple in my fridge.maDonna wrote:Going to fry up some Italian sausage slice them and add to some Salsa rice, that's for tonight
Ellie, comfort food. Something my mom used to make. Dad had no mushrooms ... I ate all his, lol.
HF, prep ahead is always a good thing. But, as you said ... use up the leftovers first. Or if I have leftover taco meat ... I will freeze that and save it for another night. I love to add some extra veggies to it; and top a baked spud. Top w/cheese, sour cream, avocado, etc.
Cooking ... Leftover meatloaf is the best ever. I always make extra. Grilled meatloaf sandwiches or cold sammies with lettuce and mustard. OMG, the best ever. And, meatloaf quesadillas ... not too bad either.

Morning Everyone! Have a party for the ladies I cook for tomorrow night; so, today is shopping - tonight prep. Yes, I have help.
Today's Cooking ...
Just me again; and, not too hungry. Better, just not starving. I guess I will play it by ear. I have enough on hand to reheat or make just about anything.
I do have a few pita pizzas, mini ones I made up and froze. Just garlic olive oil, pesto/tomato sauce, parm; and, I usually just finish with some fresh mozz and bake. They are simple and easy. I can always add any veggies if I want.
