What WAS on Your Plate & WHAT'S for Dinner 10/14-10/15
So, Any Great Fun Filled Plans for the Weekend?
Today's Cooking ...
They just picked everything up! I always put everything in disposable containers; so, just the thermos and cooler to return.
Catered Breakfast for my Friends Work - 6 People (I do this every 3 months for them): A new egg casserole; pan sauteed sausages; mixed fruit salad w/honey yogurt and granola topping; fresh juice. They picked up at 7:30 on the way to the office. I just wrap it all up in a cooler w/plates, cups, napkins, plastic flatware; and, they take care of themselves. They make their own coffee, lol.
Lady #3+2: German Platter - Mixed sausages and soft pretzels w/mustard and horseradish sauce; red cabbage; potatoes cakes w/sour cream; apple sauce (I'm just making the last 3 items); 1 guest is bringing dessert.
Cabbage and sauces are done; apple sauce is cooking.
Me: Work lunch meeting; probably cheese crackers/sausage (I picked up stuff at the german deli yesterday) fruit, grazing etc.

Honestly, they were not that bad. Chicken livers wrapped in bacon are about the only organ meat I eat.
I consider myself a very adventurous eater; but, I just don't do it.
My Dad ... he loved sweetbreads as well! Mom would never make them for him, lol.

Lets just say ... it's 2pm and 1/2 my list is not even done. It's going to be a long day.
My cooking is easy today.
I have asparagus, fresh peas, and cherry tomatoes to use up. I'm thinking a simple pasta dish with a white wine cream sauce and basil. Meatless; maybe a small side salad. That's it. Anything super easy is the plan for me.

Today I made Greek marinated chicken breast (lemon juice, lemon pepper, garlic, oregano, rosemary, honey and oil) pan-seared with a pan sauce, fresh-picked carrots in an orange sauce with butter, brown sugar, pinch of cayenne, fresh-chopped thyme, salt and pepper, and my old fashioned corn casserole http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/old-fa ... role-24430.
Sure with I had some homemade apple pie with ice cream!!!
