"I came up with this when I wanted to add a bit of zing to regular buttered popcorn. You can spice it up a bit by adding a bit or a lot of cayenne to the butter mixture if you like. For those who don't have access to Frank's RedHot Sauce, I do have a copycat recipe for it #recipe13676 ."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Melt butter in microwave oven.

Step 2

Mix in hot sauce, peppercorns and cayenne if using.

Step 3

Pour over popped corn and toss to coat.

This is quite good actually! I worried that it might be a bit vinegary in taste but as it turns out, it has a nice *zing*. I thought people who enjoy Buffalo wings might like this. It's not too spicy either- the heat is about the same as a medium hot wing sauce, so spice it up if you like more. I often use a habanero spice blend on my popcorn and that would work nicely here as well.
