"Grossingers was a famous Hotel in the Catskills of Upstate NY. They were well known for Comedians ( mostly Jewish) and Lots and Lots of food. We stayed at this hotel when I was a child. This is good over rice, boiled potatoes or noodles."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Dry the meat cubes very well.
Step 2
Heat the oil in a heavy dutch oven-brown the meat cubes, over medium-high heat, until well browned on all sides.
Step 3
Add the onions and continue browning for a few minutes- scrape the bits off the bottom.
Step 4
Add the salt, pepper and paprika.
Step 5
Cover - lower the heat to low/simmer - let cook for 30 minutes- stir occasionally.
Step 6
Add the bell peppers and tomato sauce- cover and cook for another 1 1/2 hours, or until the meat is very soft- stir occasionally.
Step 7
Taste the sauce close to the end- add salt and pepper ( or seasoned salt, like I do) to taste - let cook a bit more.
