Step 1

In a bowl cream together the sugar and butter and then blend in the spices (-allspice). Stir in coffee, rum and half and half.

Step 2

Ladle mixture into 6 warmed coffee mugs and garnish each mug with an orange peel twist.

I finally made this tonight because my husband doesn't have to work tomorrow and can stay up late and drink coffee. Oh the life of an old person! Since I didn't want to use rum, I used rum extract instead. Well, my bad. I didn't know any better and used way to much. So if you don't drink, take my advice and use rum extract sparingly. So other than that. The flavor was good. However, I think heating on the stove would be better because adding the hot coffee in the bowl still left everything too cold. I had to heat mine up in the microwave. So doggone it all, I feel like it would have been so good if I wouldn't have added that darned rum extract. It overpowered stuff too much. I'm gonna have to give this another try. When my old man can stay up!
