Step by Step Method

Step 1

Flatten the slices slightly with a rolling pin. In the center of each bread slice, spread about 2 teaspoons or more of the Nutella or spread of your choice

Step 2

Roll the bread and the mixture like a cigar or a rolled taco; set aside until you finish all of the slices.

Step 3

In a shallow bowl mix the egg and the cup of milk, whisk until well combined. In another shallow bowl, mix the sugar with the cinnamon

Step 4

Heat 2 tablespoons butter in a skillet over medium heat.

Step 5

Soak the bread rolls in the milk mixture until fully coated. Add them to the hot pan, which should have the butter already melted, cook the rolls until they’re golden brown and look fully cooked. Roll the fingers in the sugar and cinnamon mixture. Eat and enjoy!

  • Choose bread slices that are fresh and soft for the best results.
  • You can use any type of spread you like for this recipe, such as fruit preserves, peanut butter, or cream cheese.

  • Substitute Nutella Spread with Almond Butter - Almond butter is a great alternative to Nutella as it is a healthier option and still provides a delicious nutty flavor.
  • Substitute Milk with Almond Milk - Almond milk is a great substitute for dairy milk as it is dairy-free and still provides a creamy texture.

Chocolate French Toast Cigars Replace the Nutella spread with melted chocolate chips and omit the sugar and cinnamon. Roll the bread slices with the melted chocolate and cook as instructed. Serve with chocolate syrup and powdered sugar.

Maple-Glazed Bacon: This sweet and savory dish is the perfect accompaniment to the Cinnamon French Toast Cigars. The salty bacon and the sweet maple syrup glaze will balance out the sweetness of the French toast. Plus, the bacon provides a nice crunch that pairs perfectly with the soft texture of the French toast.

Berry Compote: This simple yet delicious berry compote is the perfect complement to the Maple-Glazed Bacon and Cinnamon French Toast Cigars. The tartness of the berries will cut through the sweetness of the French toast, while the syrup will add a hint of sweetness. Plus, the compote will add a nice texture to the dish, providing a bit of crunch to contrast the softness of the French toast.

Cinnamon is a spice that has been used for centuries, and was once considered to be more valuable than gold! It was so valuable that it was even used as a form of currency in the ancient world.
