"I love Grissini and especially love these when I have the time to make them.
Served with soup these are wonderful.
This is from a very old Italian cookbook so I have listed Metric and Imperial measurements, as per the book. Makes 700 grams"
Sift 350 gr /12 oz/3 cups of the flour into a large bowl keeping the remainder of the flour for kneading the dough later on. Add the prepared yeast (according to directions on yeast packet), salt, 2-3 tablespoons of oil and the milk. Knead energetically for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Put into a warm place to rise for 1 1/2 hours.
Divide the dough into pieces and roll into long thin sticks with floured hands. Cut the sticks into 25 cm /10 inch lengths. Put on an lightly oiled baking tray and put into a hot oven until crisp and golden; about 15 minutes.
