"So easy and so unique. If you thought you didn't like anchovies ... think again. Toasted, they become nutty and sweet. NOT like those anchovies served on take out pizza. These are really delicious. Such a wonderful sauce over grilled fish, scallops, vegetables; or toss with a little angel hair pasta for a quick side dish. Don't knock it until you try it. I bet you will be very surprised."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Anchovies ... In a small saute pan, add 1 teaspoon of the butter and melt on medium heat. Add the anchovies and mash with a fork as they cook. They only need to cook a few minutes and will begin to fall apart and get nutty golden brown. Don't let the heat get too high, you don't want the anchovies or butter to burn.

Step 2

Add the remaining butter, garlic, capers, wine, and the lemon slice (squeeze the lemon slice into the sauce and then put the whole slice in). Let it cook on low heat for about 5-8 minutes. Right before serving add the parsley and season with a pinch of pepper.

Step 3

Serve ... As I said, serve over baked or grilled fish, scallops, chicken, pork, vegetables; and, it makes a fantastic sauce for pasta. ENJOY!

This butter is so tasty and has all those wonderful picatta flavors, but better, given the anchovies that pump up the flavors so very well. Placed the butter over grilled salmon and grilled haddock. Yum, Yum!! Kchurchill5 got the best recipes. RIP girl!
