Using up the last two bites
Here's what I've been doing this week.
1/4 jar of salsa verde - I added it to my chili - added some extra zing.
1/4 cup of maple roasted brussel sprouts. Diced them and used them in an omelet this AM. Topped with a bit of gruyere cheese ( also a left over ). It was really good.
Leftover fish chowder. I bought a container of fish chowder from the farmers market. It was not enough for 2 servings - but more than one serving for me. I used it as a spaghetti sauce when I got home late from work. Added some peas and parm cheese and it was really good.
Anyone else using up those last two bites >

If I have something I don't really want to use but don't want to waste, I freeze it.
Kitten - if the meat is still safe to eat, why not put it in the freezer and start a potpie or soup container going? Keep adding bits of cooked meat or veg to it and when it is full enough, and you feel like turkey soup or something, then take it out and make soup.

yep that's where it's going Heather not sure if I will ever use it though, I have ton of turkeys in my freezer that I bought cheap a while back so I made one, and my DS is just tired of turkey so pretty much the whole turkey is left

I am having a similar problem with my daughter - except with turkey meatloaf. I had made it out of turkey specifically because she said she won't eat beef meatloaf anymore but would eat turkey. Well, she said she now hates all meatloaf and won't touch it. Of course she told me this after I made 2 loaves of turkey meatloaf - One is frozen and the other I will be eating all week it seems. /sighKittencal wrote:HeatherFeather wrote:I do try to add bits and pieces to things at the end of the week. Kitten I have given up roasting a "whole" turkey as it never gets eaten. The family does not care for the soup either. Plus dark meat never goes over well here. I still have some white meat in the freezer from Christmas. I will turn this into a Shepherd's Pie topped with mashed potatoes & served with salad plus hot peppers. This dish is always well received.

would you give any of it to your cats ? I sometimes make them a dish with rice and dark meat chicken. ( yes they are completely spoiled )
Another different way I use up turkey is to make BBQ out of it or chop it up into hash.
