Passing of Moosehead

Post by moosehead » Fri Jun 27, 2014 5:11 pm

To all,

Dear Admin,
Please inform the members that my wife, affectionately known by me and the Recipezazz community as Moosehead passed away Monday, 23-Jun-2014 morning, unexpectedly at age 51. The cause of her death is not known at this time.
We were together for 31 years.

The first meal she made for me was hamburger helper. Her enthusiasms for cooking really took off about 10 years ago due to the find folks at this website and its predecessor. Recently she commented that she had fallen behind in participating on the board. Her tardiness was due to the busy schedule she had this year taking care of me during my extended illness whilst teaching a heavy course load. So now I need to learn to cook!

Moosehead (Lynnette Smyth) was a full professor of economics at Gordon State College in Georgia, USA. Prior to Gordon, she taught economics at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Her nickname originated during her graduate work in statistics when an elderly professor who could not recall her name simply referred to her as Moosehead. Apparently he thought her head was rather large.
Go hug someone you love.

Thanks Mark

What a shocker. Oh my goodness Mark. I am so sorry to hear about Moose (Lynnette). We loved her dearly here. I used to live in GA, and that is how her and I first became friends as we had something in common. Please accept my deepest heart felt sympathy for you and your family.

As I sit here in tears, I am remembering the fun we used to have on the boards, and her wit was always so wonderful, as I am sure you know so well. I am going to miss her so much. She was a wonderful fun person.

Thank you for letting us know. God be with you Mark.

Mark I am so shocked I can't believe what I am reading, Lynette was a huge part of Recipezazz and loved by everyone here, she was such a wonderful lady we had so so fun together...

All of us here (members and staff) would like to express our sincere condolences to you and your family.

Some people come into our lives, then leave us, they leave footprints on our hearts, Lynette was one of those people.
May God wrap his arms around Lynette and keep her safe in heaven. She will be missed by all of us.

Please take care of yourself Mark...
