Easter 2025

Post by Gerry » Mon Apr 14, 2025 1:41 pm

Easter at our house with circumstances as they are at the moment still unplanned. The freezer sees to salmon or cod for Good Friday, turkey or chicken with ham a given which takes care of the mains for the weekend with Easter Monday's turkey gravy and cranberry sandwich a given!

Am sharing the Easter link which has most of our choices for our traditional Easter meals.

For now the final decision between turkey or chicken will depend on the number of expected guests, if a small group I am thinking to one of our favorite chicken recipes a delicious rosemary and orange flavored roast chicken that is always a hit at our house.

Once again missing was having littles come to do the colored eggs, happy to find a kit with a familiar brand name. Upon opening no tablets but three little packets of liquid dye and a mini dropper. And mini wiping cloths. The colors lovely but I cannot begin to think to children managing. Admittedly my hand is still not quite healed so that mini dropper useless ended up using rubber gloves and smearing the color on. Worked but super messy! Eggs are a lovely pastel so all good.

Come holiday time or gatherings baked ham is a must make at our house, having a much smaller group this year I decided to make stuffed chicken breasts to serve along side the ham instead of the roast chicken.

The potato salad is prepped, there will mixed vegetables, a green salad and homemade Bread and Butter Pickles. A vegetable platter and a mixed fruit tray a given as is a loaf of Feather Bread.

The tablecloth, china and table ware all set to go.

Wishing everyone celebrating a very Happy Easter.
