I'm serving my #recipe5777 as the main dish, with a Broccoli Salad recipe from Brown Eyed Baker and the rest of the Italian Bean Salad from Recipe4Living on the side. I meant to make some watermelon-feta-basil skewers (recipe from the Loveless Cafe), but I forgot to buy fresh basil and mine hasn't grown big enough to steal its leaves yet, so that'll have to wait.

Well we are in the middle of rain and thunderstorms from the hurricane, so no cook out today. I am making indoor BBQ chicken sandwiches. ( Braised chicken, shredded and then topped with BBQ sauce ). I set out different kinds of rolls and toppings ( lettuce, jalapenos, crushed pineapple, lettuce etc. ), coleslaw and roasted sweet potatoes. Cinnamon Crumb Cake for dessert.

Yes, Ellie we did a lot of damage on the leftovers, lol. A good clean out.

I hope everyone has a fantastic Fourth of July - whatever your plans may be!
Thank you Kchurchill5!, I'm in Canada but I'd like to say a Happy 4th of July to everyone in the States!

Morning Everyone!

A bit late start for me; but, I've been up for a while. Just catching up from yesterday.
We had a great time - the boar was fantastic; all the food, etc. And, great weather.

KareninMass, lots of rain up there, I saw. I have friends in NC as well. Not the best for the 4th of July. Dinner sounds good for indoor cooking.
Ellie, thx; it was a nice 4th.
And, Felix, according to your photos you posted, what a cooking spree. dinner sounds really good.

I knew I would have leftovers; my friends always send all the cooks home with leftovers.

So, I have the boar, my corn on the cob (I have the Mexican butter), baked beans; and, a grilled vegetable salad.
I'm set for tonight.

Torrential rain last night, my garden is flattened - but will perk up with all the lovely water. My 2 sons inhaled the chicken, and then ate the leftovers as a midnight snack. I have 2 teens both athletic, but one is a highly ranked distance runner. My runner has a grilled cheese or two before dinner to tide him over every night. Last night he had BBQ Chicken on a large sub roll, half a pan of mac n cheese, coleslaw and 1/2 cinnamon crumb cake. He has no body fat !

I am on my own today, husband and boys went to beach house, but my foot is giving me trouble and I have to be careful with too much sun - so I am staying home where I can relax a bit. Planning to do some shopping and making Shrimp Curry for dinner. ( Which I will need to share with the cats )

Yeah, lots of rain; but, good for the garden as you said.
Boy, those boys can eat. My son, was never a bit eater; still not. He is tall and lean. He never ate desserts either, so basically a dessert free home, lol.

Sounds like a nice day to chill and relax. Shrimp; only 1 of my kitties like shrimp; strange critters, lol

I do hope no one got the impression I made all of that yesterday! That was over the last couple of weeks, since the last time I posted in the photo forum.

Dinner tonight, I'm making a quiche. Not sure exactly how it's gonna come together exactly, but I've got some smoked sausage, red potato, Vidalia onion, mushrooms, spinach, and cheddar, along with some new spice blends from my favourite local store to try. I suspect I can make something out of that. I also suspect it'll end up being a new recipe. ;) On the side we'll have some of the broccoli salad from yesterday and the rest of the lima beans from t'other day.

Really? lol. You didn't slave over a hot stove for an entire day.
I figured it was over the last week or so. Still, qY more than I have done. Been a couple of weeks of leftovers here.

It all looked good to me. Quiche sounds good; I have to make that or a fritatta this week - eggs to use up.
