What WAS on your Plate & WHAT'S for Dinner Tonight 1/26

Post by Kchurchill5 » Tue Jan 26, 2016 1:19 pm

Just Another Tuesday!!! So, What's Your Dinner Plans?

I ended up going out to a new restaurants open house for happy hour; so, that was dinner. I did make my turkey stuffed cabbage or chard rolls yesterday; and, they are in the crock pot today. But, I think they will be dinner tomorrow.
Tonight, black bean chili from the freezer, topped on a sweet potato; tomato avocado salad.

Ellie, no I never have; but, I do have it written down. I will copy and post to you. I will try to post on here too. It is really simple ... it does take a little time to roll the leaves; but, NOT hard. You can use kale, chard, or cabbage which is traditional. I used chard; because my garden is going nuts.

I will get that for you!
FYI, pizza sounds good.

Shapes, you kill me with such good comfort food; and 59 ... I'm a huge soup/stew fan, so sounds delicious!! Good cold comfort food as well.

Tonight I made some meat pasties (rhymes with last). These are everywhere in Michigan, especially the upper peninsula. They're just pie dough cut in a 9" circle, filled with your favorite meat and veggie filling. Folded over into a semi-circle, crimped on the edge with a fork, poke a few fork holes in the top, and baked on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, at 350°F for 1 hour (first half hour on the bottom rack and second half hour on the top rack). Also had some corn and peas with them.

Hey, growing up in MI ... I know those well. I love those. Yep, meat and usually leftovers veggies. Did this often after a pot roast. LOVE THEM. Mom always served gravy to dip; and some gravy on the inside ... it was always different.
