Morning Everyone!

Busy day ahead.
A very nice BBQ Yesterday, (not at my house) so no leftovers for me.

Dinner for a friend who has 3 kids of her own; and her sister who unexpectedly showed up with her 4 kids on her door step this weekend in the middle of my friends BBQ party. My poor friend is besides herself, 7 kids, 2 adults and a small house; and my friend works part time as well.

I offered to help for a few days as her sister doesn't cook, other than a box of mac and cheese and PBJ. And the kids are all ages on top of it.

I'm going to make a pan of lasagna, chicken and dumplings, burritos with a green chili sauce, Mexican rice and beans, a fruit salad and green salad and drop it off later tonight. That should get her through the week for the main dishes; Her husband travels a lot, so she is on her own - I really feel bad for her, the sister apparently doesn't do anything except lay around all day.

So my day will be busy.

Dinner for Me:
I made extra black bean and roasted red pepper salad Sun, so I will add some corn to it and put it over a salad with some shredded jack cheese, cucumbers and onions.
I will probably make a chipotle ranch dressing.

I hope everyone had a nice day yesterday. Weather was hot, but no rain here.

Afternoon Church. That is a lot of children for dinner.

Felix, weather continues hot & humid with no rain. The weather people are talking about a cold front coming in? I do not need cold but rain.

Dinner last night was a chicken caesar salad. Tonight will be soup. I just have interest in eating due to the heat.

Dd arrives at noon tomorrow. I will have ready a ham frittata, chicken caesar salad plus a load of roasted veg. Finishing up my grocery shopping in the morning for future menus. One thing I know is there will be a lot of chicken breasts.

I'm just glad I don't have 7 kids at my house. I'm sure she will be happy Nin, not having to cook.

Sounds like you are ready for DD, I'm sure you will have fun. It is cloudy and only 83 today, but very humid and DRY.

Florida got a lot of rain, but NOT us. I wish

Church, I have been watching your weather. I am surprised that you have not had any rain. There are already water restrictions around me. The Sun has now come out which means no rain & the temp is rising again. I am cleaning areas in the house I am not happy with & have hit the A/C down to handle the heat.

7 kids I would be dead by now. They must be fed which many Mothers know how to do. Of course there are some women that were born for 7 or more & love it. It was nice you helped out. I like to think I would also be of help, just multiply by 7. I would feel better having one of you in the kitchen with me!

AC finally down to 76, too cold for me. But it isn't working and 5 days before service, so if I can get it down low, if it breaks at least it is cool. Took 6 hours today to go from 81 to 77. It isn't working obviously.

Well, food dropped off, they were thrilled. My g/f called me from work - she was beyond happy. Sis apparently hasn't done anything today, from the way the house looked and my g/f never has the house look like that.

AC on here, with 88% humidity and 88 degrees,93 over the weekend; HOT and sticky the dew point was also way up there. NOT like up north trust me.Wet and drippy temps. I just wear tank tops, and sit under the fans ... fans in each room here.

Well plants to water, garbage out, my neighbors dog to walk, cats to feed, dinner to cook and then 3-4 hours work on the computer ... work work, paid stuff - so got to get going.

Ninner, if you get a piece of what came through here yesterday, you should be getting rain as well as cooler temperatures. It's probably 15 degrees cooler than yesterday (and considerably less humid), and some places got a couple of inches of rain.

By the time I got out of work, I didn't care any more. I made a cheese sandwich (and ate it cold...too much effort to make grilled cheese), some leftover broccoli and carrot salad, and a yogurt.

Morning All!

Well, during the night, I did get my AC down to 76, which is OK to me; but if it did what happened yesterday, during the hot day, the temp goes right back up. It went from 75 to 84 yesterday during the day in just a few hours; and it took from 4pm till this morning to drop back down. So, it ain't workin' right!

But is ok right now. 84 inside with 88 outside and 80-90% humidity and a high dew point makes it very sticky. I don't mind the heat, but really really sticky today and no breeze.

Why did I even bother planning meals this week? Sweetie is out of town and our schedule is so hectic. Last night on a whim we ended up making chicken nachos which were just super yummy. I had other plans for that chicken this week but that's ok.

Tonight is suppose to be BLT's but I think the kids ate all the tomatoes when we grilled burgers the other night. Sigh. Not sure what we'll end up doing.

Doing a show again this week (Cirque du Soleil presents Quidam), running the LED ribbon board at our arena. Which means leaving the house no later than 5pm every day again. Dinners...yeah. Just like last week.

Today I'm making a berry salad with yogurt dressing, and maybe some other stuff to keep in the fridge, so we can each just grab whatever strikes us. With any luck at all, that'll keep me from having to stop for fast food every stinkin' night again on the way home.

Afternoon, I am so excited. Tracking Dd's plane on the Web, 17mins, 146 miles. I love being able to watch this. The company is sending her a car to the airport & then she will be here in 10mins. She is coming from the local airport for the first time.

I have 11 guests, Dd's friends for dinner at 8pm. I will serve a buffet as it is easier for me.

I can't wait! 14mins, 96miles.
