My cat is too proud to meow or make any noise to wake me up. She quietly crawls up on the bed, sits next to me and slaps me in the eye to see if I'm just faking sleep.

You sound like me. I have 3. A 21 yr old, still very active, a 4 yr old and a 1yr old. Between 4:30 and 5:30. THEY WANT THEIR MORNING TREATS. They have dry food all the time, but get treats, in the am. And all 3 split 1 can of wet food at night. But if their dry food runs out during the night. There is NO sleeping in for me. All 3 of the bed, begging for their treats. Then they like me to open up the door so they can go relax on the porch.Elsie wrote:My 17 year old cat wakes me up every morning at 4:30 to get him something to eat. He bugs me to death until I get up. Once I am awake, there is no going back to sleep. I had to change his diet 6 months ago because of health issues, now he is feisty as a kitten and wants his food now....get up NOW mom!Bless his little furry heart!
They also have their toys and they seem to think that the ones with the bells in them are best to play with during the middle of the night.

We now have a cocker spaniel and she completely destroys any dog toy she gets (we quit buying them). The only thing that survives is a rubber tire that is tougher than she is. She does not harm furniture, shoes, or anything else but she does have a penchant for stealing socks from the laundry - she doesn't chew them, just takes them outside and leaves them.

Here's a photo of Sam and his indestructible toy 30 minutes after I gave it to him!
