Re: Where does our food come from???
ND is one of the few states that doesn't permit corporate farming. Thank God. How long we can hold out one only hopes.
This is why I grow my own food and only buy local if I can. I have been searching out American made goods to assist "American Made" companies. It is not easy. But if everyone purchased an American made product at least once a week it would be a tremendous help.
After looking at new cars we have decided to buy American made. We have decided that there will be no foreign made cars purchased by us.
I try to reduce my buying of produce from other countries when we have produce grown here.
Don't buy grapes anymore. Still buying bananas. If you all knew how many actual recalls there are on a daily basis you would be amazed.
I will never buy another cantaloup or strawberries that I don't grow again!
It is scary as all get out to buy food these days.
I didn't watch the whole thing, as I have seen this type of documentary before.
Have a garden if you can. It doesn't have to be huge. Visit a small farmer's market.
Life is supposed to be better, not worse, food is supposed to be safer not contaminated with E.Coli, Salmonella, or Listeria.

It's really, really hard to buy grass fed beef at the cost, same with the natural chicken. The price on all these foods is just so prohibitive! I mean, I can buy chicken breasts on sale for 1.99 lb, the organic is 6.99 lb. We eat a pound of chicken three times per week, do the math on that one!
I do try to buy locally grown produce, but for tomatoes in the off season, I buy the Canadian Campari. They are amazing.
And I try to avoid the middle aisles at all costs unless it's stuff like coffee, pasta, rice, etc.
