Recipes that clear your sinuses?

I am getting slammed hard this season with sinus congestion and allergies. Meds help but only go so far. I have been drinking tea and using some steam to help me out, but I was wondering if any of you had any other suggestions - in particular - foods or recipes that help relieve congestion.

I know wasabi is great - any other things along those lines?

Homemade chicken noodle soup opens up those sinuses! For a while anyway. ;)

well how's about adding 2-3 tablespoons crushed chili flakes into your recipes Heather, that otta do the trick! ;) :lol:

Hot wings :lol: And spicy Asian soup with lime. I have major allergies, so what works for me is a daily Claritin - I've taken one every day since 2005. And I initially cleared things out with the Neti pot. Those things are amazing. I haven't been sick more than a 24 hour cold in 7 years, most of them don't even last a full 24 hours. :shock: KNOCK!!!! :lol:

Some good suggestions here - thank you. It has moved to my throat now so tea & honey are on the menu.

Get a Neti Pot and use the sinus rinse that they include. Works for me and for DH. Available in Walmart and I think it is under $10.
