What's the most unusual thing you've ever...

Canned, dehydrated or preserved?

I regularly make tomato powder in my dehydrator. (not too odd, but I don't know anyone else who does it)

I am looking forward to doing homemade cheese powder too.

I did canned white asparagus spears once, but they didn't turn out as I forgot to peel them first so they came out woody. I also canned cherry tomatoes once too....again, should have been peeled first.

Watermelon honey. Don't remember if the recipe was on f.com or just where I did snag it. It's made from the watermelon rind and positively delicious! Made for kind of a funny gift, too.

I've canned a whole lot of different stuff over the years, but unusual, I don't think I have. Can't wait to hear what others may have done though. :)

Well this summer was my biggest canning year ever. I even bought 9 cases of new jars. I also did alot of dehydrating. Hubby asked me if there was anything I wouldn't dehydrate when he found me loading the dehydrator with watermelon. I laughed and said nope. I had to try it, after seeing that Ronco Infomercial years ago. It turned out not too bad, it probably would have been better if the watermelon wasn't so old. It had been at room temp for almost 2 days when we were camping. And I was able to fit the whole watermelon in a qt jar once it was dehydrated.
