Oh Yeah! Dinner ...

A bunch of work (the kind I get paid for, lol) to take care of today. And way too many appts; so, a bit busy.

Cooking ...
Lady #3 has a small dinner party: Stuffed chicken breasts - a stuffing made w/artichokes, olives, and spinach, served w/creamy Feta sauce; pine nut couscous; roasted grape tomatoes; broiled figs w/honey butter, pistachios, Greek yogurt and mint

Me: Grilled pizza (I have a bit of prosciutto and fresh mozz to use up, mushrooms, olives, onions, etc.), who knows what else. I guess whatever I feel like. The garden runneth over right now with greens ... so another salad.
The pizza, not sure if it is a tomato sauce or not. I'll figure it out later.

Tonight for me it's going to be a chicken sandwich. I want to try this recipe.foodandwinedotcom/recipes/five-spice-chicken-banh-mi-sandwiches Five-Spice Chicken Banh Mi Sandwiches. It sounds delicious. And I have all the ingredients on hand except for the cucumber, so just a quick run to the store.
Your dinner party menu sounds great Kim.

Thx MsP, appreciate it. It's actually a pretty easy dinner; but, they requested it.

The sandwich sounds delicious - looks tasty. I love sandwich nights. And, it's fun to try something new.
I also have a quick store run ... it will be a cat mutiny, if I don't get any wet food, lol.

Yumm, Asian sounds delicious.
I have friends over for dinner and it's going to be Italian.
I'll start the night with Aperol (drink) and an antipasto (I usually clean up my fridge that way).
Then the spinach (and brain) raviolis that I made last week. (I froze them). Both of my friends coming are picky eaters so I will not mention the brain part. :D :D
And for dessert I made panna cotta, that I will serve with strawberries and blue berries.
I'm going camping and fishing over the weekend. It's a long weekend here in Argentina.
So, have a wonderful weekend. Will be back posting on Tuesday.

I love asian food too, but also mexican and italian, and.....LOL I just love food!

We had Chef Shapeweaver's http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/sausag ... -soup-8972. It was really delicious. I had never made lentil soup before, so it was a surprisingly great soup. Will make again!

Morning Everyone!

Well, I didn't end up with Asian, thought I had soy and ginger - neither.
So, we changed to a roasted garlic Italian marinade; and, the rice - I doctored up a package mushroom rice w/wine, fresh mushrooms, garlic, scallions. Not Bad!

MsP, have a great weekend. Your dinner sounds wonderful. I don't eat many desserts, but like panna cotta. The brains ... not so sure about. Aperol, I haven't had in a long time.
By the way, where are you in Argentina, if you don't mind me asking? I went skiing there are few years ago. Beautiful country.

Dis, I saw the pic of the soup, looks wonderful. Perfect Fall food.

Tonight, plan on roasting more tomatoes and peppers for the freezer stash.
Also, if the market has good cucs for pickles, that is also the plan for the day.

Dinner - baked chicken thighs (bone in skin on) w/sweet potatoes, onions, figs; greens from the garden w/pears, nuts, and a balsamic dressing

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Yesterday I did someone's seafood gumbo with shrimp and crab. Sauce was quite thick so it was more like Shrimp Creole with a little gumbo taste from file. No okra in this recipe. I also made a side salad.
Today I am making fleischsalat for lunch with some bean salad I have marinating. Tonight I am thinking maybe roast chicken and either roasted potatoes or squash. Need to still shop for veggies so that I'll know later.
Everyone's eats sound interesting!
Never had brain ravioli. Let us know how the friends enjoyed it!:)

Morning,

Sue, gumbo still sounded good. For me, I wouldn't necessary miss the okra  Roast chicken is always a good choice. I love squash this time of year. I have an acorn to use up. Totally a reminder of Fall - even though it was 90 yesterday and today

Today, yard work, football, a couple of cold brews; and eventually dinner.
I'm thinking lighter. A blackened tilapia sandwich wrap, w/lettuce broccoli slaw (tossed with lime and a bit of oil/vinegar), avocado, chipotle cream, and cotija.
On the side, a tomato, cucumber, radish salad; and, melon for dessert.

No pickling cucs at the market yesterday, so NO pickles. I may head to the other market today, if I feel like it.
But, the pool sounds like a better choice.
