I have no idea what's in the refrigerator (still haven't made the eggplant lasagna, but my eggplant isn't getting soft yet so I still win), but whatever it is will be what we're eating. Day four of no voice, although I did finally break down and start taking cold medicine on top of the allergy meds so at least I'm not coughing as much. Had to do something; my ribs started hurting yesterday afternoon because I've strained the muscles. Hopefully the ungodly huge thunderstorms that have rolled through the last couple of days will knock some of the crap out of the air.

Its been really pleasant here. I am thinking of grilled chicken, Mom's canned green beans and a baked potato. Simple - but good. I really have had no urge to cook anything beyond the basics.

My Kitty is growing up a bit and seems more content at night. Except the furaball likes to sleep curled up next ot my bare legs. If I have on sweats she trys to curl up under my chin or under my t-shirt against my belly. She is HOT HOT HOT . But she sleeps really soundly and nudging her doesn't work - I have to physically move her.

My other cat is now jealous and won;t even com in the bedroom if evil Abbigail is around. So when I work on the computer at home - Chloe likes to drape herself around my neck. I love them both to death though

I live on the grill this time of year, despite AC. it's just nice to be outside. Today is hot hot, but breezy - sort of nice.

My head never hit the pillow last night....not uncommon, as I do have a sleep disorder. I have been in some kinda time warp with sleep for over a week. Despite that, I went into town with the neighbor for the afternoon. I did get quite a bit of shopping done. Anyway, tonight I am so whipped that I'm doing freezer stash ham, lima bean, barley and spinach soup....some crackers on the side. I really don't think I'll get much past that before I hit the bed :D

Chicken has been thrown into the oven. I decided I would just use the cooked chicken later in chicken and dumplings. Going to eat salad and some veggie saute to clear up the produce drawer a bit early this week.

I haven't been sleeping well this week either. I'm PMS ( oh when will menopause ever come ! ) and just thrashing around. I was in the mood for a salad - so had a spinach salad with the grilled chicken tonight - it was really good.. Deepster, the soup sounds really good. I've been working like crazy and need to get back in the cooking swing again.

I can relate to sleep disorders; I'm lucky to get 4 hrs a night; 5-6 of a gift. Frustrating.

Sounds like a nice day; and, nothing wrong with a bowl of soup for dinner. I do that often. I love a good bowl of soup. Rest up!!

Sue, chicken sounds like a plan. Love chicken and dumplings.
Karen, I was lucky and basically skipped menapause; but, I still don't sleep. So, i feel for all of us who deal with that every day - trust me. I've tried meds, all natural; and, nothing really helps. I wish ...

Salad and chicken sounds just good to me.
I had a late dinner; but the fish was good. I'm craving something ... not sweet; but something.
I think I will cut up a sweet peach and have a little cool whip - yes, I keep some on hand. It's makes a nice dessert. Usually I have mascarpone; but, I'm out.

Morning Everyone!

Well, all 3 of the kitties are in time out - that pretty much tells you how my morning has been.

Anyways, working from home; but, also heading to the office for a bit too. Still very hot here, mid 90's and triple digit heat index; so, the pool is a must.

Today's Cooking ...

Lady #1 (#2 has plans): A mix of 2 recipes from Dissie and Galley Wrench; a salad of mixed greens with cucumber and olives w/lime vinaigrette.

Me: Fried rice - I have a small chicken breast, shrimp, and rice (all cooked in the freezer); I'll add some peas, cabbage, carrots, celery, and the typical soy, egg, etc. Sort of a clean out the fridge and freezer dish.
peach and grape on the side.

I'm making the eggplant lasagna today if it kills me. Also the zucchini-cheddar mash. Day five of no voice, and it's getting really, really tiresome. But at least I can breathe, and coughing is down to several times an hour instead of every few seconds. Viva la Dayquil! *sigh*
