Morning Everyone!

Felix, sorry your day got turned upside down; but, your dinner still sounds good.
Karen, I understand when dinner plans change as well - mine did too.
Shapes, sounds delicious!

Today's Cooking ...

Ladies #1 and #2: Cabbage Soup; chicken salad (w/apples, celery, walnuts, mayo, sour cream) sandwiches - I couldn't find one on here, so I'm going to just wing it; gingerbread cake w/a powdered sugar dusting - no icing

Me: Well, my plans changed too. I had to go help my son out at the auto shop; then, into work for a couple of hours (computer issues). So, by the time I got home, way to late for ribs.

I planned to have my extra fish tonight as a sandwich - so, that became last nights dinner. I also added my last hard boiled egg, and some cucumber to my pasta to stretch it out.

Tonight, back to the ribs, potato packets and cabbage package, all on the grill.

Thanks, Kim. We're still in limbo waiting to find out what is actually going on...this could either be nothing or a full-blown crisis, only the medical tests will tell and the hospital hasn't called to say when they are yet.

Tonight my mother is going out for dinner, so I'm doing my own version of CORN. I've got leftover spinach and feta stuffed salmon (she won't eat leftover fish), leftover has from last night (to which I'll add some scrambled eggs), and those chili-lime peanuts are going in the oven today if it kills me.

Ummmmm felix the salmon sounds terrific.

I completely cheated tonight - just got home after a 13 hour day - so I had a yogurt, whole wheat tortilla chips and salsa. I think I hit all the food groups though. Not sure how to count the beer !

I am off to bed - just exhausted.

Morning, yes it really is.

Karen, Felix is absolutely right - grains    And, I hope you got some sleep.

4:30, the kitties were hungry and awaiting their morning treats. When all 3 jump on the bed and curl up by me ... It's useless to try to go back to sleep.
Besides, we actually got a light morning shower too - Not much, but at least something.

Let's see ... Thursday, and it's just me, for cooking that is. A little work abound the house; and then, off for the midnight shift. Nothing special today.

Dinner will be a pot of cabbage soup (recipe to be posted); and, a BLT.
The soup has no tomatoes, and it isn't creamy either. It is mostly cabbage; but, does have bacon, potatoes, white beans, celery, onion, carrots, beer, broth, and caraway. I haven't made it in years, I figured I might as well post it.

Good Morning ....... what is it with kitties and 4:00 am....

Mine hear the birds and go nuts. They like me to get up and play with them .... yikes.

Please post the cabbage soup - it sounds really delicious.

Slept very well, boys came home late last night and are all sleeping in today. I am eating a BLT with avocado for breakfast. I often eat "lunch" food for breakfast and breakfast food for lunch.

Dinner - no clue really , thinking finally eat that tilapia in my freezer

Tell me ... up way to flippin' early. They are always like this - drives me nuts.
I'm actually posting 20 recipes this am. That is how far behind I am.
It is a pretty healthy soup. It does have bacon and beer; but; really all veggies and broth. And, it makes a huge POT too.

Don't worry; I often eat odd things at odd hours. Especially working midnights ... I don't if I should have a beer and burger; or, coffee and eggs.
But, even before that; I could eat spaghetti for breakfast and be fine, lol. I know - call me crazy.

Tilapia is always good to have on hand. Easy, quick, and you can really do anything with it.

Do you like spice? I have a nice jalapeno cream over fish pan sauteed. Not my original recipe; but, I do pass it on, because it was delicious. Glad to share.

Look for the soup recipe soon. I just did 2 others ... so on a roll.
I'm stuck here this am waiting for a repairman, so ... not going anywhere.

I got lucky with my cats...no way were they getting up early! If I had to for some reason, they would glare at me from my pillow because I left them.

No idea what dinner will be, other than that I'll be making it at my niece's house. She's going for an MRI Friday night so I need to stay with the kids because her husband will be at work, but in the mean time she has enough energy to either pack for moving into the new house or run her current house, so she called me to see if I would be her Alice. (Brady Bunch reference, if you're lost.) Fingers crossed, candles lit, and nebulous higher powers beseeched that this turns out to be nothing serious!

I'm sending my kitties to you for Felix's Boot Camp. Obviously, they don't listen to me.

Best wishes on the home front. And, yes ... I did get the Alice reference. Hopefully it all works out.
