Felix, last I checked ... Chef Boyardee has no carbs, =)) =)) =))
Dis and Sue, sorry about the rain. Grilling in the rain is definitely not very fun. :( And, chicken soup is always a good 'feel better' soup.

Me, I did get my quiche pie done (which had ham, swiss, and the end of my broccoli slaw mix); turned out good. And, I made a small cucumber/tomato salad over arugula. I have plenty for breakfast tomorrow or lunch; and, I'll freeze a couple of pieces too.

Today, meeting a client for HH, http://www.square1burgers.com/menu/#/soonersliders. It's a pretty nice burger joint. I'm doing her wedding in May, so we need to verify a few things. Just a small wedding.
She also is going to take home some burgers for her kids too.

So, no cooking for me. Lady #1 drove back w/family; #2 flew back, and is staying 2 weeks; and #3 still has company - so nothing for me to do.
I did pick up a small container of rum raisin vanilla yogurt at a local deli yesterday. I rarely eat ice cream - but, they only make this 1x/month, and it is really good.

I was going to complain about the rain since we're still pretty flooded with the two counties just north of me declared disaster areas... but since we aren't having tornadoes that level entire cities and kill people, I'm just going to accept the rain and move on.

Dinner tonight is coming out of the freezer, because I'm lazy. I've got a couple of servings of #recipe12196, so I'll probably heat up a can of sliced beets and call it good.

Though it's pretty breezy here today, at least it is warm yet a bit cloudy. We are expecting the mega rains and accompanying storms tonight, tomorrow and tomorrow night. Alas, we have had no stormy weather in quite some time, and even now I hope it's not too severe....eventhough we are told to prepare for that.

Tonight, I'm going to do country ham biscuits, left-over green limas and a baked sweet potato....easy and pretty well balanced.

Just found out a friend's house was demolished in Tupelo, and they lost a dog. The rest of the family came through physically OK. Dinner for me has been postponed, as my stomach is so tied up in knots I can't even think about eating.

So sorry to hear, Felix. I was just watching the news, and I really had no idea things were as bad in some places as they are. I'm glad for everyone's physical safety. Well, except for the dog. Amazingly the dog may just turn up. They're pretty resilient. Losing your home has got to be pretty dramatic, though. Things are predicted to get potentially quite nasty around here for the next few days.

Everyone stay as safe as possible!!!!!

Today was just as bad; and even more tornados. They don't even know the damage yet on those. But, yesterday was really bad. I feel so sorry for all those families. Very tragic. I couldn't even imagine what they have gone through.
Sorry to hear about your friend Felix.

Felix sorry about your friends home and dog. I watched the news tonight, and it was so sad. I didn't want to watch it, but felt I should to see whats happening and stop trying to avoid the bad news. Feel so bad for those poor people.

I didn't cook tonight, I offered left over chicken soup and everyone pretty much just picked at different things. I had a leftover pork chop smothered in gravy. Tomorrow will be..........LOL going to have to sleep on that one!

Morning ...

First - prayers go out to all the families and towns that have been hit with the storms and tornados the last couple of days.

Today, and this week, the heat is on. 89-90, it is definitely spring; still not too humid. But, the AC had to go on - I hate it; but, when the house is 85-86, it's a must.

Today, 2 scenarios for dinner.
#1 - I promised to help a gf pick up a dresser she bought this weekend. She offered to steam artichokes to start; and, I will take bean soup from the freezer, and make grilled mozz and tomato sandwiches.

#2 - work; and, the boys will bring something from their family Italian restaurant.

Felix, sorry to hear the bad news. I am glad that no one else was hurt. That part of the south is notorious for bad weather.

Artichokes sound great Kim! I had some earlier this week. Although I think Bill would rather just eat the hearts and not bother with the leaves.

I didn't get my pork into a marinade early enough yesterday so will do that today and (hoping) maybe I can grill it outside as well but more storms are coming. I did pick up the bread.

Lunch was herring on crackers and a glass of iced tea. Very light. Tummy is still kind of upset from eating chips for a product review last night. I am not used to eating that sort of thing. And even though I didn't eat that many, just sampling, they were still deadly.

And I need to get busy making a strawberry rhubarb pie. The day is flying by...

Hopefully storms will hold off. Looks pretty bad for today. Maybe the weather will cooperate for you.
Herring, I have at Christmas ... it was Gramps fave. Me ... I don't mind it during the holidays. I like the creamy kind.

And everyone knows I don't like sweets - but the combo of strawberry and rhubarb is amazing. I do love rhubarb.
