Last night, I did the mussels, cooked with wine, butter and garlic. Added some toasted, butter and garlic, Italian bread. With a small spinach salad, and raspberry yogurt for dessert.....A most excellent meal!!

Tonight, I am doing garlic, butter and cheesy grits with shrimp. sliced avocado, and, again, yogurt for dessert. Can't wait to get this on a plate :D

Morning and TGIF!

Well, it rained all day for the most part ... screwed up my yard work. So, I think I have some time this am before more rain. Out to the garden is the plan.

Ladies #1 and #2 ... off to the theater! I'm off the hook.

Me, one of our poker guys roommate had surgery. So he is bringing Happy Hour home to him - Sushi.
I am taking veggie spring rolls, my friend plus 1 is buying the sushi, another is taking care of dumplings; and, poor Ken ... he is stuck with the beer and sake, lol. He can't cook, so we always stick him with the alcohol =)) =)) =))

Sorry you are getting rained out, Kc. We'll be getting ours today and tomorrow. I really don't care as It's about 1 1/2 month before any serious yard work can be undertaken here. At least all the snow melted yesterday.

Sushi sounds great to me, anytime, and especially with friends!! As you noted, I have had to really excellent meals the past two evenings. This morning, I had enough grits left over for a grits topped with poached egg and crumbled bacon for breakfast....also a fine meal 8-) 8-) 8-)

I have chops in the refridge that need to be frozen or cooked today. I'll hold back two to do something for dinner, and the rest go in the freezer.

So far I have planned some blackberry crisps, breaded mozzarella sticks and asparagus for a side. Haven't decided for sure the main yet. Tossed salad will be in there too. Maybe some burgers?

Our snow changed to rain as well...to the tune of about 1 1/2 inches in the last 24 hours. The flood warning we've been under for the last 10 days has been extended "until further notice". BUT, the rain appears to have dislodged some of the ice jams on the river, so at least the water is flowing again. And I'm actually seeing grass around the bases of trees in some places, while the parts of the yard not buried under mounds of snow from plowing or shoveling appear to be down under a foot finally.

Lunch and dinner will be leftovers whether she likes it or not. I've got some tomato soup, some tuna salad, another two servings of the poached cod over broccoli, another couple of servings of the broccoli and cauliflower I did with Sue's bleu cheese sauce, and if we don't eat the rest of the cottage cheese today it's got to go.
