Morning Everyone and TGIF !

Beautiful day here, sunny and warm; more like spring.

Never did get my soup made yesterday; hopefully I can find time to get it done tonight.

Ladies #1 and #2: Card/Game Night - http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/saraso ... risto-5143, cut in quarters; I picked up some nice berries, pears, apples etc; http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/tomato ... ange-11065; and, a simple green salad (endive, watercress, spinach; champagne vinaigrette).

Me: A big salad. Tuna, cannellini beans, cucumbers, radish, tomato, egg, olives, red onion, Greek dressing - maybe feta, maybe not. I think I'll skip the bread, less carbs.

It's cold and periodically raining and/or spitting snow. Had I gotten up earlier I would've put some ribs in the oven to slow roast and to add some heat to this stupid cold house, but I didn't. So...dinner will be #recipe1937 (using tilapia) with #recipe694 and a simple garlic and butter roasted acorn squash.

Morning All!

Gorgeous day here, and perfect at the market. Didn't get too much stuff; just a few items for the ladies (cooking their T'day during during the week). I'm pretty well set for food until after T'day.

I hope those getting hit with the latest winter storm stay safe; hopefully it will not pose too many travel problems for the Tday commuters.

Today, just soup. Turning very cool 70 tomorrow; then is 15 lower than today. Going to use a variation of Shapes Hamburger soup; QB had just made it. Using my Italian sausage; and frozen on hand veggies - but it should come out good.
That and a salad should be plenty.

Woke up to bright sunshine off about a half-inch of snow, and 22F with a wind chill of 10F. Which means my Facebook news feed has blown up because apparently everyone in Michigan has forgotten that it snows every year.

Dinner tonight will be #recipe5113 with a recipe for steel cut oats with onions and mushrooms I got from Shape Magazine of all places, and probably some French-cut green beans.

Morning Everyone!

Felix, I definitely remember those MI winters. At least it is sunny; but, that is cold.

Today, I'll be busy cooking for Lady #4. Her family comes in tomorrow morning; so, making her soup and sandwich spreads for the group.
Classic chicken noodle, creamy mushroom and wild rice; and 3 salads, egg, tuna, and roast beef, with 2 loafs of bread.

Me: Grilled Cod with a lemon parsley oil, creamy lemon pasta; and, peas and lima beans with shallots and garlic.

Heat wave today! 24F, wind chill 16F. Plus, it's only spitting snow with wind less than 10 mph. However, I am lazy and it's trash day. Which means I'm going to put all the dibs and dabs of leftovers in the microwave and we'll pick the ones we want. After dinner everything gets thrown out, since I didn't make much of anything that freezes well.

Stay warm felix! I'm relying on freezer and fridge stuff too this week to clean stuff out. Making room for holiday food. Luckily when I cook for the other ladies, I use my friends catering kitchen fridge; always room. Otherwise, I would have NO room for food; and of course, the beer and wine are a must.

I don't have to cook this year (and we're going to my sister's house), so no worries on making room. I just hate throwing out food because she refuses to eat leftovers unless I'm here to reheat them. ;)

However, Lake Michigan has suddenly decided I should have real snow this afternoon. It's very pretty, those huge fluffy flakes that look like you're living in a snow globe. Pretty in an "If I lived elsewhere I would love it here" kinda of way. Currently very glad I opted to stay home to watch the game today.
