Yep.
Going to have rain and wind all day and all night. Wind is going to be 20-25 mph consistent.
Our locality has NOT changed the time for the trick or treaters. What a bunch of wipes that don't want to postpone the event for the kiddos. Sunday is going to be cold, but clear and calm. A great time would have been in the afternoon.

Bill is home early today and we are going out for lunch. Tonight's dinner is still up in the air. Not sure if I am cooking- or eating out again.
I don't like eating out so much.
I can cook better food at home and I am not just blowing my horn. Time was, eating out meant having something very good. Seems like that has changed to hoping one doesn't end up in the E.R. with "Montezuma's Revenge".
If I cook it, I know what I am eating. And that soap was used where it needed to be used. All that.
;)

Isn't that the sad truth, Sue! :( There was a time when going out to eat was a pleasure. It was relaxing, and the food tasted good too. I have found that not to be true anymore. We very rarely, eat out. It’s not that I wouldn’t like too, but it seems I am always disappointed in the quality of food, the service, and price more than I am not. I wouldn’t mind cooking a little less as I am getting older, but the restaurants isn’t making that any easier for me.

We are having braised pork chops, apple dressing, and a veggie side yet to be decided.

Elsie and Sue, bundle up, stay inside, and stay warm.

And, to you both. Agreed - we all cook better. It did use to be a treat; with quality food. Now a days, that really how it is. Cooking at home is so much cheaper, healthier, and relaxing. These days - service is bad, food is mass produced; and, it just isn't that good.
If I am meeting friends, I wouldn't say anything, and just go with the flow. But $25, for small entree and a beer that is so so, with frozen vegetables; are just not worth it to me.
I do have my Mexican place, seafood, and Thai which I love. But, I get things I don't often make; and, the food is fantastic.
It is very hard eating out these days.

Elsie, pork sounds good.
My pork pies last night were made with leftover braised pork and apples. Pork and apples are a great combo!!

I don't go to chain eateries but do go to off the wall places ( except TGI Fridays, I found one that is great! ) . I find these places are how eating out should be. Start up places have some of the best food around.
But yes, the longer one ( most folks ) cook the more disappointed they are when they eat out, it is not the eateries fault it is a testiment to the ability of the home cook!

Well, I planned my shrimp tonight. But, my co-worker came over today and brought lunch. Tijuana Flats - Mexican. I did plan on that, but 11:30 and a salad was the schedule.
It was 1:30 and 4 dishes with another co-worker. It was dinner plus. They left at 3:30 something, and I was stuffed. 7pm and still stuffed; I just don't eat that much for lunch. I am a light fresh breakfast; snack for lunch and then dinner; or, a big lunch, and basically NO dinner.

So, I grabbed grapes, cheese, crackers, salami; and called it dinner. That was plenty. A good glass of cab, and maybe a cocktail later with Covert Affairs and White Collar, I do like those shows.

Shrimp, I hadn't taken out, so, it is fine for tomorrow. Things happen ... why we always have backups

Fruit, cheese, crackers salami...well, I eat like that a lot....usually when just NOTHING else fits the bill. And besides, that's a meal that I really like!!!

Well, tonight, I did a thick slice of baloney, fried dark, a thick slice of onion, a little mayo, and some hot sauce...between two slices of white bread and a side of pickles......I was exhausted from spending the day in town with my elderly neighbor/friend. Definitely not the most nutritious meal.

Turns out I didn't have time to make the chicken...my meeting went long, and I had to go in to work earlier than I thought (although I got out at 10 instead of 2, so that worked out). I ended up having a bowl of cereal, some yogurt and a banana.

Deepster, sometimes a light snack is just fine. A mini antipasto platter.

Don't forget guys ... head on over to the November Post!
