Morning Gang ... Rise and Shine!
TGIF

I guess the silent alarm went off again at 3:30. Seems to do that a lot. So, what better to do - than to go to Walmart! No crowds, easy parking. I only needed a few groceries, cat food, and a few herb plants. DONE! \:D/

Well, yesterday was a mess. Got a lot done, but got some unsettling health news regarding my son. He came over for about 2 hours last night to talk; so, my dinner didn't get made until after 9. He is ok, tests, but stressful for a parent. :-S :-S :-S

Today's Cooking ...

Ladies #1 and #2: Card/Game Night - Sloppy Joes
Per request. I am making mini turkey ones w/provolone cheese; sweet potato salad (no mayo); baked zucchini fries & onion rings w/spicy ketchup. For dessert a new (posting) Cinnamon Shortcake with a Twist on a Peach Melba Topping.

Me: Thx to Felix who did a sausage and squash stir fry the other night; then, Dis did more squash for her Tostadas, I'm doing the same. Using up my chicken sausage, zucchini, summer squash; probably some onions and and maybe a pepper too if I have one. Maybe a small salad on the side; my son brought me 4 tomatoes last night. He stole the last 4 off of Dad's plant ... I knew I taught him well =)) =)) =))

Nope it was about 5:30. Woke up, went to walmart, came home, fed kitties, clean the cat box, food away; then got online.

Somewhere around 5:30ish, give or take. My post says 528 ... that is about right.

Well, my squash and sausage turned out to be zucchini, sausage and tomato. Still good. I cut my yellow squash, and wormy or holey in the center, a big brown spot. Still good. Felix's looked tasty, so I did a similar version. Delicious. It was POURING, so I couldn't do the grill, but, still good. Rain, NOT expected tonight. Typical FL. Ruined my gardening work, :(

We had our tv dinners for lunch today as my bf said no to yet another day of PBJ (can you blame him?) So tonight, after doing a lot of work cleaning the house and getting things ready for the move, we got Firehouse Subs for dinner. They have the worst cookies and brownies I have ever tasted, and the soda were both off (too much water taste), but their sandwiches are really very good.

I was going to do an arm roast on the grill, in foil, but so tired from unpacking and unloading, I just opened tinned chicken and made a quick chicken salad. Yummy sandwiches for dinner. At least my guys love those. My stove is installed but not my fridge. It doesn't even have the doors on it yet. So I have 2 fridges in my kitchen and its little to begin with, so you can imagine. We have to squeeze in between the two fridges to even get into it!

Veggie lasagna and a simple cuke, tomato, and lettuce salad. Just a tv dinner and nice veg from the farmstand.

I had some of the mango I bought and wow was it good. I can't remember the variety (something local), but it is supposedly one of the sweetest and has no stringy bits. Really good!

The next couple of nights will be haphazard, since we move out tomorrow and our movers don't lug the stuff into our new home until Monday morning. We have to return our internet/cable equipment today, and so we may be offline the next few days until things get set up in our new home.

Morning, well maybe Afternoon ...

Dis, Chicken salad is always good, easy and simple. I always keep canned tuna and chicken on hand, and usually chicken in the freezer. Something, I can thaw in a few minutes and make sandwiches with.

HF, just travel safe. Dinner, anything quick and easy. Grab something out. Food is the last thing you need to deal with. Once you get over to the new place, you can get a few things ... but make it easy. Worry about unpacking first.

Me ... NO cooking
g/f and I get together every month. She actually lives in Tampa 1 hour north of me. But comes down on some weekends to visit her Mom. She always makes it 2 days, and comes to see me one of the nights.

So, we do Chinese 1 month, and Thai the next. This month, Chinese. So that's the plan tonight. Delivery, while we open a bottle of wine ... then, usually a movie.

Egg rolls a must. I love lomein, and spicy of some kind. She likes fried rice, and egg foo yung. We usually get the same thing, but sometimes we throw in something new.

I am referencing your silent "3:30" alarm....not the time of the post!
