That is great news, Racr!!!

It always pays to get another opinion, or as many as it takes. A co-worker of my husband, he and his wife had a new born baby that was diagnosed having Cystic fibrosis. They were devastated. They took their baby to Cardinal Glennon in St Louis and had lots of tests ran. The baby was fine!!! I don’t understand how some "doctor’s" even get a license!

Thanks, everyone! Yes, it was very good news and yes the first doc is a jerk!
The specialist at the children's hospital has given a preliminary diagnosis of periventricular leukomalacia. (Commonly called PVL.) The best news I have found is that it is not progressive. PVL doesn't heal but it doesn't get worse either. While it is a brain injury, Boo's case seems to be on the minor end of the scale. The worst is cerebral palsy, delayed development and severe retardation. All of those normally show up much earlier in a child's life. Boo runs, plays, does puzzles and interacts properly with other children and adults. He has not had seizures or spasms. Right now his speech seems to be the only thing not developing normally. Learning disabilities might surface as he gets older but we'll deal with that.
They go to a specialist on Wednesday for further testing. Right now everyone is happy that next Saturday won't be Boo's last birthday!

Awesome news! Momma has been at the hospital all day with little Aiden. Here is what she just messaged to me "God Is great!! Thank you all for the well wishes for aiden cole!!! He's healthy as can be, just needs help with his speech!!! Such a big ball of stress has been lifted off my chest!!"
Not much I can add to that. Thanks again to everyone for those prayers. PVL can be MUCH worse than a speech problem.

Thanks, everyone! Compared to all the horrible things the docs said a few weeks ago, needing speech therapy is not a big deal at all.
