Re: ~ Click to Feed the Animals ~
Only a few flakes of snow fell yesterday but stayed cold and damp. Time to dig out the heavier winter gear to get to the last of the outdoor chores. I am so not ready for winter but without doubt it will soon be upon us.
Have to bring out a couple of the winter feeders that takes the larger sunflower seeds allowing the small birds to enjoy the ball feeders, as well as assure all potted plants either safely in the ground or saves in the garage. Both work well but had hoped for less wintering in the garage as watering is chore when it snows. Hopefully next year as prairie growers are known to say!

Great quote Gerry! I have never put that into words...but that is how I roll and I know you do too!

It is 1C this morning and the wood heat is keeping our home nice and cozy! Sure enjoying it...knowing that I hauled, split and stacked this wood myself and sometimes with Ella!

With many the year behind me not all that much surprises me, but clicking earlier this morning I was way off on this one "Wildcats and humans began forming their bond around 10,000 years ago" Should have guessed!
So had me thinking to my home in the beautiful Qu'Appelle Valley, hip roof barn, three steps up to the back of the hayloft and hubby cutting a small opening for the furbabies kept cosy and warm in bale houses and plenty of food to keep them happy. One lot of bonding happened! And although well fed no mice, rats or gophers in our yard!!
I was very taken with your morning quote Patti. Wishing you safe travel time for the many miles you need to make today. Know I look to hear when you arrive home safe and sound. Would it be too much to hope for an awesome bargain find!

It was a super busy week, hoping we are given a few more outdoor days. Garage overflowing with bloom filled pots, herbs and a good many plant saves for next year, all others safely tucked into the garden boxes. The garlic needs to go in this weekend. The girls water dish from yesterday froze last night which tells me our long winter is soon upon us.
Your quote is so very true Patti even for the days we have to dig a little deeper to make it happen. Today a Zoey groom and lunch is a great start to the weekend.

Hope you managed to get Zoey groomed! -:) They always feel better after...even if they don't like going through it! LOL
Ahhh...the days of growing garlic! How I miss those times and the great flavour of homegrown!! Nothing quite like it!

Patti your quote “Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves.” J.M. Barrie's saw to a flood of memories. It and "Every cloud has a silver lining” - John Milton, the quotes added to a thank you cards many many years back that saw to the start of my quote collection, quotes from a forever friend that I said goodbye to this past spring. A friend that also loved animals in later years her last two adoptions were the oldest fur babies at the Shelter.

One of my outdoor mantra's when I encounter an difficult/heavy job is always: "I can do this!". And I say it loudly and sometimes through gritted teeth, as I push through whatever is I am doing! LOL So your morning quote is spot on (for me!). Never realized that there was a quote about that! LOL
You too enjoy this beauteous day we have been given! (((Hugs)))

Making yet another pot of soup today. We love soups at this time of year. Doing my riff on Thai Coconut Pumpkin. I have a big can of open pumpkin in the fridge that needs a recipe! YUM!!!
Rained again yesterday and today it is forecasted for more. Heard on our local radio station that it could be a "white" Halloween. Temps are just above freezing.
